Minister of Hajj and Umrah Launches the “Umrah of the World” Initiative for 2025 at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Makkah
His Excellency the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, today launched the “Umrah of the World” initiative during a ceremony held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The event was attended by a number of dignitaries, including Mr. Imad bin Abdulqader Al-Muhaidib, founding member of the Abdulqader Al-Muhaidib Foundation, Mr. Mohammed Al-Radhi, Executive Director of the Hayat Jameel Foundation, and several initiative partners.
The “Umrah of the World” initiative aims to provide newly converted Muslims from various countries around the world with the opportunity to perform the rituals of Umrah and visit the holy sites and cultural landmarks in the Kingdom. The initiative seeks to promote human connection and cultural exchange among nations, embodying the Kingdom’s message of communication, tolerance, and coexistence. It also aspires to create ambassadors for Saudi Arabia around the world—spreading awareness of Islam and highlighting the honorable image and great efforts made by the Kingdom’s leadership and people.
During the launch ceremony, His Excellency Dr. Al-Rabiah emphasized that the initiative represents an inspiring model of community work and integrated partnership between the governmental and non-profit sectors. He praised the role of the Abdulqader Al-Muhaidib Foundation and its partners in implementing impactful initiatives that benefit both local and global communities.
For his part, Mr. Imad Al-Muhaidib expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Hajj and Umrah for his support and patronage of the initiative. He affirmed that this edition of “Umrah of the World” builds on the successes of previous editions, which have been serving thousands of beneficiaries around the world for over 14 years. He added that the initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to its humanitarian mission of empowering individuals and enriching the spiritual, cultural, and social experiences of pilgrims—thus reinforcing the Kingdom’s image as a symbol of human generosity and solidarity among nations.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mohammed Al-Radhi, representing the initiative’s partners, noted that this collaboration reflects both parties’ dedication to expanding the initiative’s humanitarian and social impact. He stated that it offers an exceptional experience for new Muslims, combining the performance of rituals with exposure to Saudi Arabia’s authentic culture. He added that the initiative represents a holistic spiritual and cultural journey aimed at building bridges of love and understanding among peoples.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s sponsorship of this initiative underscores the integrated approach in serving the Guests of Allah, enhancing the Umrah experience in a way that reflects the Kingdom’s values of generosity, compassion, and care for humanity. It also contributes to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which include reaching 30 million Umrah pilgrims.
